imaging-data-commons
Verdict safe, but 1 finding (1 medium), mainly data exfiltration. Most recent scan 2026-10-21.
Second scanner: NVIDIA SkillSpector
The two scanners disagree: Cisco found nothing and SkillSpector says do not install. One of them has a blind spot here; read the skill before trusting either. How the two scanners compare across the whole corpus: Two scanners, one corpus.
What this skill does
Queries and downloads public cancer imaging data from NCI Imaging Data Commons. Supports IDC collection discovery, DICOM access, radiology (CT, MR, PET) and pathology AI datasets, metadata SQL, visualization, licensing, and citations. Uses public metadata and download routes without authentication; optional BigQuery and Google Healthcare routes require Google credentials.
- Package
- 15 files, 239 KB
- SKILL.md
- 3948 words, 12+ sections
- Code
- Python (1)
- License
- This skill is provided under the MIT License. IDC data itself has individual licensing (mostly CC-BY, some CC-NC) that must be respected when using the data.
- Compatibility
- Requires network access for hosted APIs, index fetching, citations, and downloads. Local Python workflows target idc-index 0.12.5; BigQuery and Google Healthcare require Google credentials.
SKILL.md covers: Imaging Data Commons · Overview · Verify IDC data version (should be "v24") · IDC MCP Server · When to Use This Skill · Quick Navigation · IDC Data Model · Index Tables · Available Tables · Joining Tables · Clinical Data Access · Data Access Options

What we checked
- Static analyzer. Pattern rules over SKILL.md and bundled files: known-bad commands, exfiltration URLs, secrets, obfuscation.
- Bytecode analyzer.
- Pipeline analyzer.
- Correlation analyzer.
- Behavioral analyzer. Checks what the skill asks the agent to do against what its description claims it does.
- Trigger analyzer. Looks for instructions that fire on conditions the user did not ask for.
What we did not check
- Runtime behaviour. The skill was not executed; findings come from reading its files.
- Anything fetched at install or run time, including remote scripts, package dependencies, and URLs the skill tells the agent to open.
- Content the analyzers cannot read: images, binaries, and some non-English text.
- Known scanner bypass classes. See the methodology and limitations page.
